HaydarPasha Train Station
Haydarpaşa, Rasimpaşa, 34716 Kadıköy/İstanbul, Türkiye
Standing on the Asian shores of the Bosphorus, HaydarPasha Train Station has been an iconic Istanbul landmark since its completion in 1909. Designed by German architects Otto Ritter and Helmuth Cuno as a gift from the German Empire to Sultan Abdülhamid II, its neo-Renaissance façade, ornate towers, and arched windows embody early 20th-century grandeur. Serving as the gateway to the Baghdad and Hejaz Railways, it linked Istanbul to Anatolia and the Middle East for over a century. Despite fire damage and ongoing restoration, HaydarPasha remains a cultural and historical symbol, poised to reclaim its role in modern transit while preserving its storied past.
