Firuzağa, Cezayir Çk. No:5A, 34425 Beyoğlu/İstanbul, Türkiye
Fransız Sokağı, formerly known as Cezayir Sokak, is one of Beyoğlu’s most iconic streets, drawing local and international visitors throughout the year. Located behind Galatasaray High School, the street was restored in 2004, transforming it into a cultural hub inspired by French architecture and lifestyle. Lined with cafés, art galleries, and boutique shops, Fransız Sokağı captures the artistic and bohemian spirit of Beyoğlu. The street’s vividly painted stairs and colorful facades make it a favorite spot for photographers and creatives, while its lively ambiance and nighttime lighting enhance its charm. The area remains a bustling commercial and social center, featuring handicraft and souvenir shops that add to its vibrant appeal. Despite its name change, many still refer to it as Cezayir Sokak, a nod to its past. Located near Çiçek Pasajı, Galatasaray Hammam, and the Republic Monument, Fransız Sokağı remains a cultural and artistic hotspot in the heart of Beyoğlu.
